A is twice efficient than b.Aand B can both work together to complete a work in 7 days.Then in how many days a alone can take to complete the work???

A)10.5 B)12 C)18 D) 250
Reply Like? Yes | No
Math Lovers   10 years ago
Let B can finish it off in x days
B can do 1/x work in 1 days
As A is twice efficient then, A can do 2/x work in 1 days
so total work (A+B) in 1 days = 1/x + 2/x =3/x
so total time to finish the work when they work together = x/3 = 7
=> x =21 days
A can finish the work = 1/(2/x) = x/2 =10.5 days

Let number is 10x+y
after reverse of digit, number = 10y+x
sum = 11x + 11y = 11(x + y)
so number will be divisible by 11

how many 6 digit even number can be formed from the digit 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7so that the digit should not repeat and the second last digit is even?
Reply Like? Yes | No
Devendra Marghade   10 years ago
720

Here 6-digit even number is required with last two digit to be even, which is possible with last two digits as 24, 26, 42, 46, 62, 64
For last digits to be 24, first four digits can be among 1,3,5,6,7, so total 4 digits combinations from 5 digits=5P4=120
Similar 120 combinations for remaining last two digits 26, 42, 46, 62, 64 are possible.
So total 6 digit even numbers without repetition having last two digits even=120*6=720

Let the large pump fill the tank in x hours
and each of the three small pumps fill the tank in 2x/3 hours. then,
large pump 1 hour work = 1/x
each of small pump 1 hour pump = 3/2x
All fours 1 hour work = 1/x + 9/2x = 11/2x
so they can do the complete work in 2x/11 hours
so required fraction = 2x/11/x = 2/11
so answer = 2/11

0.13x + 0.43y = 0.18 * 120 & x + y =120 => y = 120 - x
=> 0.13x + 0.43 (120 - x) = 0.18 * 120
=> x = 100

=> 100 lts of 13% solution

100 - 67 = 33

So,
67 * 82 + 33 * 66 = 7672

Therefore, Answer is Rs. 7672 for 100 lts of 13% solution.

Reply Like? Yes | No
Devendra Marghade   10 years ago
44 years

Before 10 years, total age of 10 people=33*10=330
After 3 yr. person aged 40 dies, means he was 37 before 3 years.
After another 3 yr. person aged 40 dies means he was 34 years before 6 years
After another 3 yr. person aged 30 dies means he was 21 years before 9 years
So total age of 7 people(excluding 3 people who died) before 10 years=330-(37+34+21)=238
Present average age=[238+(7*10)]/7=308/7=44

After adding 9 grey balls ,ratio of white: Black :Grey= 2x : 4x : 3x
As 3x corresponds to 9 balls, x=9/3=3,So White balls=2*3=6, Black balls=4*3=12

There are 5 distinct integers a,b,c,d,e in ascending order.
(68-a)(68-b)(68-c)(68-d)(68-e)=725.
then what is the value of a+b+c+d?
Reply Like? Yes (2) | No
ARULARASAN   10 years ago
725 = -58-1*1*5*29
so we can write,
68-e = -5
=> e = 73
68-d = -1
=> d = 69
68-c = 1
=> c = 67
68 - b = 5
=> b = 63
68-a= 29
=> a = 39

so a+b+c+d = 39+63+67+69 = 238

725 = -58-1*1*5*29
so we can write,
68-e = -5
=> e = 73
68-d = -1
=> d = 69
68-c = 1
=> c = 67
68 - b = 5
=> b = 63
68-a= 29
=> a = 39

so a+b+c+d = 39+63+67+69 = 238
