A boat sails downstream from point A to B, which is 10 km away from A, and then returns to A. If the actual speed of the boat(in still water) is 3 km/h, the trip from A to B takes 8 hours less than that from B to A. let stream speed be v
trip from A to B takes 8 hrs less than from B to A i.e.,
time taken for upstream-time taken for downstream=8
t(up)-t(down)=8
=>(10/(3-v))-(10/(3+v))=8
if we solve above eq we will get v as 2
so stream speed=2km/h
from A to B 100 min i.e., 5/3hr
for to reach in 5/3hr let boat speed be u
(10/u-2)=5/3
=>30=5u-10
u=8
so, boat speed should be 8km/h to reach in 100 min

So from above equations we get
D(x-3y) = 13
becoz 13 is prime, so x-3y has to be 1
let x = 4 and y = 1
We get a = 60 and D=13

So 120 when divided by 3D = 39 (when twice of number is divided by 3D)
we get remainder as 3 (120/39)

let me give you simple logic if want to eat big cake piece in 4 days then u can eat 1/4th in 1st day&& 1/4th in second day && 1/4th in third day &&1/4 in fourthday .....means daily u are eating 1/4th of the cake(it means ur day work is 1/4) to finish it in 4 days.....similarily if u want to build a wall in 10 days then ur one day work should be 1/10th......and 1/10th is ur day work then how many days u can complete means...think it will take x days and ur xdays of day work should be 1 i.e., x(1/10)=1=>x=10
so follow this..and remember without thinking u cant solve aptitude questions just on formulaes....so keep practicing and think always....one day u will be in good position

therefore y takes 0.75*12=9 days to complete the work alone
(1/12+1/9+1/z)*4=1
7/9+4/z=1
1/z=1/18
z=18
so z takes 18 days to complete the work alone
in 4 days z will do (1/18)*4=2/9 part of the work for which he will be paid (2/9)*630=140 rupees

Let a and b be digits at tens and ones place respectively .
Then the number is 10*a+b.
And square of sum of digits is (a+b)*(a+b).
According to the problem statement:
(a+b)*(a+b)- (10*a+b) =18 ---***
By rearranging we get,

(a+b)*(a+b)-(a+b)=9*(a+2)
Let a+b =t , and 9*(a+2)=k
t*t-t-k =0
Solution for above equation is
0.5+sqrt(1+4k)/2
We know that a+b is an in tiger. So 1+4k should be a perfect square.
1+4k= 73+36a.
a can be any digit between 1 and 9.
If we check , we can find that a can be 6 and 8. Then substituting these in equation *** gives b as 3and 2.

So, finally our 2 digit number can be
63 or 82.

after adding a discount of 10% new cost will be : 256.50 - 10% of 256.50

Again adding an 5 % discount Final rate : 230.85 -5% of 230.85

Method 2:
if a object have successive discount of 10% and 5% then
lets assume its value is 100
and after these 2 discount value will be : 100- 10% of 100 = 90 and 90- (5% of 90 )=> 85.5
Than
100 rs value after 2 successive discount is : 85.5
1 rs .................................................................:85.5/100
256.5 rs .................................................................: 85.5/100*256.5= 219.3075

its very lengthy and complicated question it requires lots of calculation
i am not going to do that but still i am giving an idea to solve this problem
you have to make cases of all type of triangle such as
equilateral triangle: 3,6,9,12,15...........and so on
Isosceles triangle: 6,8,9,11 ...........and so on
Scalene triangle: 9,12 ...........and so on
try to make all case if not you will not get your answer
