Rs. 625

If Sum =x & simple interest is calculated@ y /year , then
x+ 3y =850 ---(i) &
x+ 4y =925 ---(ii)
On solving (i) & (ii), x=625, y=75

Babu purchased 40 kg of sugar and sold them at loss equal to selling price of 10 kg of sugar. If he purchased sugar for Rs 2000/-,at what price did he sell them?
a)Rs 36/kg b)Rs 48/kg c)Rs 50/kg d)Rs 40/kg
Reply Like? Yes | No
ankita singh   10 years ago
Solve it by ellimination method :
for option d) Total C.P = Rs.40 * 50kg = Rs.2000
Total S.P = Rs.40 * 40kg = Rs.1600
Hence loss = 2000 - 1600 = Rs. 400
which is equal to S.P of 10 K.g of sugar. (10*40 = 400)

in one kg there are 5 heads of corn so one kg maize corns is 20 Rs.
cost price of 1 head corn is 20/5 that is 4 Rs.
selling price of 1 corn is 8 ..
in one day we should get profit 200 Rs.
let x be no. of maize corn should be sold to get 200 Rs as profit..
We know that profit =SP-CP..
So 8x-4x=200 then x=50.....

9 = 3 X 3
Number of 3s in 144! = 144/3 + 144/9 + 144/27 + 144/81 = 48+16+5+1 = 70
Number of 3^2 in 144! = 70/2 = 35
is 35 the answer ?

A cistern has a leak which would empty it in 10 hours.A tap is turned on ,which admits 4 litres a minute into the cistern ,and it is now emptied in 12 hours.How many litres does the cistern hold.
Reply Like? Yes (21) | No (7)
llamar   10 years ago
assume no .of liters needed to fill the cistern is X lit
Y is the number of lit drawn by the leakage per one minute
so
Y*10*60=X-------------->1
tap can fill 1 lit per minute
(Y-1)*12*60=X------->2
from (1) & (2)
10Y=12Y-12
2Y=12 ==>Y=6
===>X=10*6*60=3600 lit

Q: A motor boat whose speed is 15km/hr in still water goes 30km downstream and comes back in a total 4hr 30min. The speed of the stream is in km/hr? I NEED COMPLETE SOLUTION PLS HELP ME

a) 4 b) 5 c) 6 d) 10

VanajaDevi   10 years ago
Speed in still water 15km/hr,so
Consider speed of stream xkm/hr
then downstream=15+x, Upstream=15-x
total distance(dowmstream+upstream)=30km&total time 4hrs30min to cover downstream and upstream so,
30km/(15+x)km/hr+30km/(15-x)km/hr=4.30(OR)9/2
by solving we get x=5
Like? Yes (3) | No
manas sachan   10 years ago
ans=5
let sp of stream be x
time during downstream,t1=30/(15+x)
time during against downstream,t2=30/(15-x)
t1+t2=4hr 30 min
calc it,x=5

If the perimeter of a square is equal to the radius of a circle whose area 39424 sq.cms., What is the area of the square?
Reply Like? Yes | No
Devendra Marghade   10 years ago
784 sq.cm.
If side of a square=a, then its perimeter=4a=r
Given, Pi*r^2=39424, r^2=39424*7/22 =12544 or r=112
So a=r/4= 112/4=28
Area of the square= a^2= 28^2= 784
