There are 20 balls of green color,20 balls of red color,20 balls of blue color,20 of balck,20 of yellow. how many u have to pick to guarantee 2pairs of same color?
Reply Like? Yes (1) | No
Ankit Panwar   10 years ago
Total No Of balls = 20+20+20+20+20 = 100
Selection of 2 Balls Out of 100 Balls = 100C2
Selection of 2 ball of the same color = 20C2 + 20C2 +20C2 +20C2+20C2
Hence the answer = 19/99

Two printers are printing pages. The first printer prints 30 pages per minute. The second printer prints 50 pages per minute. If the second printer printed for 4 1⁄2 hours, how many minutes would it take for the first printer to print the same number of pages as the second printer?
162 minutes
450 minutes
135 minutes
337.5 minutes
270 minute
Reply Like? Yes (2) | No (1)

7.5 minutes

Pages printed by second printer=50*4.5=225
Time taken by first printer to print 225 pages=225/30=7.5 minutes
Like? Yes (1) | No
Rakshit Shetty   10 years ago
4&1/2 hrs = 270 min
therefore printer 2 will print 50*270 pages=13500 pages
time takes to printer 1 to print 13500 pages = 13500/30 = 450 minutes
so 450 minutes is the answer

A is thrice as good as workman as B and therefore is able to finish a job in 60 days less than B. Working together, they can do it in:
Reply Like? Yes (5) | No (1)
Devendra Marghade   10 years ago
22.5 days

B=3A ---(i) &
1/A=1/(B-60) ---(ii)
On solving (i) & (ii), B=90, A=30
Working together A & B will finish the work in 1/[(1/30)+(1/90)]=90/4=22.5 days

A, B and C can do a piece of work in 20, 30 and 60 days respectively. In how many days can A do the work if he is assisted by B and C on every third day?
Reply Like? Yes (99) | No (23)
Devendra Marghade   10 years ago
15 days
On first two days A will work & on third day A will work with B & C,
So three days work of A,B and C= (1/20)+(1/20)+[(1/20)+(1/30)+(1/60)]=1/5
Whole work will be completed in 3/(1/5)=15 days

Reply Like? Yes | No

48 Km.
If distance travelled on foot=x then on bicycle=80-x
Given, (x/8)- [(80-x)/16]=8
(2x+80-x)/16=8 , x=48

A certain sum of money amounts to Rs. 1008 in 2 years and to Rs.1164 in 3 ½
years. Find the sum and rate of interests ?????? what is the solution for this question plzzz some expalin me detail.
Reply Like? Yes (42) | No (6)
Devendra Marghade   10 years ago
Sum=800, rate=13

If sum=x, rate=r, then
x+ (x*r*2/100)=1008 ---(i) &
x+ (x*r*3.5/100)=1164 ---(ii)
As difference in interest for One & half (=3/2) year=1164-1008=156, so x*r*(3/2)/100=156, x*r/100=104
Substituting this value of x*r/100 in either (i) or (ii), we get x=800, r=13

As we know,Amount=principal+simple interest
First equation (for 2 years) is
1008=p+(SI for 2years) -----(1)
second equation (for 3 1/2 years) is
1164=p+(SI for 3 1/2years) -----(2)
subtracting equation (1) and (2) we get
(SI for 3 1/2years)-(SI for 2years)=1164-1008
SI for 1 1/2 year=156
3/2 SI=156
SI for 1year=156*2/3=104
substitute SI value in equation(1),we get
1008=p+(2*SI for 1year)
1008=P+(2*104)
principal=1008-208=800=sum
SI for 2years=P*T*R/100
208=800*2*R/100
Finally,we get R
R=208*100/(800*2)=13

original cost = 52500
for 1st year 10,000 depreciates means 52500-10000 = 42,500
and then after depreciates 8% every year so 8 * (8/100) * 52500 = 3675
after 8 years it amoubts to 42500-3675 = 38825

Q1. Pipe A takes 16 min to fill a tank. Pipes B and C, whose cross-sectional circumferences are in the ratio 2:3, fill
another tank twice as big as the first. If A has a cross-sectional circumference that is one-third of C, how long will
it take for B and C to fill the second tank? (Assume the rate at which water flows through a unit cross-sectional
area is same for all the three pipes.)
o 66/13
o 40/13
o 16/13
o 32/13
I want its full solution.. please if any one know.. must reply...

Let the cross sectional circumference of A is x so its area will be proportional to x^2, now it is given that A has a cross-sectional circumference that is one-third of C, so cross sectional circumference of C will be 3x, and its area will be proportional to 9x^2, according to the given condition, cross sectional circumference of B will be (2/3)*3x = 2x, so its area will be proportional to 4x^2
since pipe A for which cross sectional area is proportional to x^2, fills the tank in 16 min.
so pipe B and C for which sum of cross sectional area is proportional to 13x^2, will fill the same tank in 16/13 min.
but second tank is twice big in size so time required = 2*16/13 = 32/13 min.

3. 25

Actual cost of 40 needles=1*(100/75)=4/3
Price of 40 needles at 25% profit=(4/3)*(120/100)=1.6 Rs.
So needles to be sold at 25% profit in 1 Rs.= 1*(40/1.6)=25

Reply Like? Yes | No
iyeswariya AR   10 years ago
hi!
when his daughter born
wife=24
subash=24+4=28
daughter=0
when son born
subash=32
wife=28
daughter=4
avg of their age when their son born is (32+28+4+0)/4=16 but the avg must be 23 so by increasing each ones age by 1,
(33+29+5+1)/4=17
.
.
.
(39+35+11+7)/4=23
so the avg of subash and his daughter is (39+11)/2=25
answer is 25

Salt Water Solution =4 litre
Salt water solution after spilling out = 4-1.5 = 2.5 litre
Salt in the solution = 2.5*15% = (3/8)
As previously when the water spills out solution remained was 2.5 litre now 2.5 litre more water is added to fill the jug Now percentage of salt in 5 litre solution = ((3/8)/5)*100 = 7.5 %

Jug capacity - 5litre
At Beginning Jug contains - 4litre (Salt(15%) +Water(85%))
1.5litre spills out - 2.5litre remaining (Salt(15%) + Water(85%))
after filling remaining place in Jug with water - 5litre (water(185%) + salt (15%))
lets assume 200 % = water(185%) + Salt (15%)
then 100% = water(92.5%) + Salt (7.5%)
So Salt is 7.5%.
