Solve sqrt(2x^2-2x+1)-2x+3 = 0

Solution

The equation can be written as
sqrt(2x^2-2x+1)=2x-3
Squaring both side
(2x^2)-2x+1=(4x^2)+9-12x
Solve we get
x=1 or x=4
But 1 is not satisfy the LHS side of the equation (By checking)
and 4 is satisfy the LHS side of the equation
so The only root is x = 4

solving we get x= 1 and x=4
but we know that value inside square has to be positive and the term (-2x+3) gives +1 so for x=1 function can not be zero

or (2x^2-2x+1)^1/2 = 2x-3
here 2x-3>0 so that x>=3/2......(1)
now according to question:
(2x^2-2x+1)^1/2 = 2x-3
squaring both side
(2x^2-2x+1) = (2x-3)^2
x^2-5x+4=0
(x-4)(x-1)=0
here x=4,1
but according to (1) x>=3/2
so that x=4 answer

Solution

Here we find out distance traveled by the wheel in one minute and multiply it by 60 to get speed.
Diameter = 50 cm
Circumference = Pi*(diameter)= (22/7)*50 = 1100/7 cm
Distance moved in 1 revolution = Circumference
= The distance moved in 420 revolutions = 420*(1100/7)=66000 cm = 660 m
In 1 hr, distance traveled = {(660*60)/1000} km = 39.6 km
speed = 39.6 km/hr.

-3,-1,11,39,89,...... ---------> sequence 1

if u will subtract -1 - (-3), 11 - (-1),39-11,89-39
you will get the sequence as 2,12,28,50 ---> seq 2

now again if u will subtract 12-2,28-12,50-28

you will get the sequence as 10,16,22 ----->seq 3

now you can see that the common difference in sequence 3 is 6
..now you can calculate from there that after 22
what will be the next number.
The next number will be 22+6=28

now we have 10,16,22,28 as sequence 3

now we have sequence 2 as 2,12,28,50

Let A's speed be x km/hr and B's speed be y km/hr
Distance to be covered = 42 km
Time taken by A = 42/x hr and
Time taken by B = 42/y hr
Now according to the given condition
(42/x)-(42/y) = 1 (i)
and (42/y) - (42/2x) = 5/2 (ii)
