Vijay travels 600 km to his home party by train and partly by car. He takes 8 hours if he travels 120 km by train and rest by car. He takes 20 minutes longer if he travels 200 km by train and rest by car. Find the speed of the train.
Le the speed of the train be x km/hr and speed of car be y km/hr
Vijay travels 120 km by train, the distance covered by car 600-120 = 480 km
Now, time taken to cover 120 km by train = 120/xhr
And time taken to cover 480 km by car = 480/y
Total time taken to travel 600 km = 120/x + 480/y = 8 hr (i)
Similarly
200/x + 400/y = 8hr. 20minute = 8(20/60) (ii)
solve (i) and (ii)
we get
x = 60 km/hr and y = 80 km/hr
Let marks of Amit is x
Then according to given condition marks of Suraj is 1.1x
Difference of marks is 1.1x – x = 0.1x
Hence marks of Amit are (0.1x/1.1x)*100 = 100/11 = 9.09 % less than marks of Suraj.
Rate list of some liquids purchased by Shubham is
(Item) (Rate per litre) (Amount required in litres)
Milk ----- 20/- ----------------- 5
Oil ------ 80/- ----------------- 1
Cream ---- 120/- ---------------- 0.5
A shopkeeper offers a discount of 10%, 20% and 30% in the rate of following items. These discounts are given according to the demand of customer. For getting maximum profit, Shubham will use 30% discount in ........ item and he will pay ....... rupee to the shopkeeper.
(Fill in the blank)
In the problem, Shubham has to invest 100 rupee in 5 litre milk, 80 rupee in 1 litre oil and 60 rupee in 0.5 litre cream, therefore for getting maximum profit he will use 30% discount in milk of maximum price then 20% in oil and 10% in cream of minimum price.
321 = 3-1 = 2 no is 321 (first no-last no)
725 = 7-5 = 2 no is 725
862 = 8-2 = 6 no is 862
963 = 9-3 = 6 no is 963
In the given options only option (5) satisfied the condition
725 = 7-5 = 2 no is 725
