In order to buy a car, a man borrowed Rs. 180,000 on the condition that he had to pay 7.5% interest every year. He also agreed to repay the principal in equal annual installments over 21 years. After a certain number of years, however, the rate of interest has been reduced to 7%. It is also known that at the end of the agreed period, he will have paid in all Rs. 270,900 in interest. For how many years does he pay at the reduced interest rate?

Esha will beat Usha by 28m

as:

so in 28 sec distance covered by Usha = 28*7 = 196m

Every odd number (other than 1) can be written in the form of difference of square of two specific whole numbers.e.g.

3=2²-1¹
5=3²-2²
7=4²-3²
9=5²-4²
And so on....

Generalisation...

(2*n+1)=(n+1)²-n² ...for n>=1, where n is a natural number.

5=5
9= 5+(3-1)² ..... (As 9 is the 3rd term)
13= 5+9-1
29=13+(4-1)²
41=13+29-1
77=41+(7-1)²

Generalisation....
For odd term:- {( n-1)th term +(n-1)²
(------>for n is greater than 2)
For even term:- (n-2)th term+ (n-1)th term -1
(------> for n is greater than 3)

I Hope this works....

Reply Like? Yes | No
Devendra Marghade   9 years ago
13 5/7 days

If 1 day job of a,b & c is A,B & C respectively, then
A+B=1/16 ---(i) & B+C=1/24 ---(ii) , substituting A=3C in (i) & solving we get A=1/32, B=1/32, C=1/96
So together A+B+C will complete the job in 1/[(1/32)+(1/32)+(1/96)]=96/7= 13 5/7 days

First apply combination(selection) - select 3 consonants from 7 = 7C3
select 2 vowels from 4 = 4C2
arrange these 5 selected letters = 5!
thus number of words formed = 5! *(7C3 * 4C2) = 25200

Number of ways of selecting (3 consonants out of 7) and (2 vowels out of 4)

= (7C3 x 4C2)
= 7 x 6 x 5 x 4 x 3
3 x 2 x 1 2 x 1
= 210.
Number of groups, each having 3 consonants and 2 vowels = 210.

Each group contains 5 letters.

Number of ways of arranging
5 letters among themselves = 5!
= 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1
= 120.
Required number of ways = (210 x 120) = 25200.

= 7C_3* 4C_2
= 210.
Number of groups, each having 3 consonants and 2 vowels = 210.
Each group contains 5 letters.
Number of ways of arranging 5 letters among themselves
= 5!
= 120
Required number of ways = (210 x 120) = 25200.

time taken by a in 1 km race= t= 1000 mts/a(speed of a)
in same time b will travel = t=(1000-20)/b(speed of b)
so (98/b) = (100/a)
in 11 km race a will finish race in let p time.
p=11000/a
in that time b will travel distance = p*b=(11000/a)*(98a/100)=10780
hence a beats b by = 11000-10780=220mts

Lottery balls are numbered and coloured balls. In the famous Lotto, six numbered balls are
drawn at random from 49 balls. In each ticket one needs to guess the six numbers that
would be drawn. If no correct guesses are received the prize money is carried to the next
draw. It is not uncommon to see prize money accumulating to several millions of dollars. An
urn contains m white and n black balls. A ball is drawn at random and is put back into the
urn along with k additional balls of the same colour as that of the ball drawn. A ball is again
drawn at random. The probability of drawing a white ball now:

a) Does not depend on k
b) Increases with k
c) Decreases with k
d) Cannot be determined without additional information

F(-6) = 1

Reply Like? Yes (1) | No
cash karo   9 years ago
Ans is 13

Here f(-6) = 1,
So, a(-6^4) - b(6^2) + (-6) + 5=1;
1296a - 36b - 1 = 1;
1296a - 36b = 2...(1.)

Now, f(6) = 1296a - 36b +11 = X... (2.)

Now (1.)/(2.) gives,

1 = 2/(X-11)

So, X = 13

A boy has to find the average of 25 positive integers.Each integer contains two digits.by mistake,the boy interchanges the digits of one number and finds the average 2.88 less than the real average.what is the difference between the two digits of that number.???

8

As average reduces by 2.88, so total reduction for 25 numbers= 25*2.88=72
If the original number with digit x & y =10x+y was replaced by 10y+x, then 10x+y-(10y+x)=72
9x-9y=72, So x-y=8
